Wood Norton Hotel and Conference Centre

Assist BBC with Commercialisation and Launch Hotel & Conference Centre

BBC Wood Norton played an important broadcasting role in the war until becoming the home of the BBC Engineering Training department.  Wood Norton was also used for some of the filming of the Doctor Who.   Previously only used by the BBC, the historic main building on the site received a multi-million pound refurbishment by the BBC and then launched as a luxury 45 bedroom Hotel and Conference Centre.

Reporting was at a high level as this was a new, high profile initiative for the BBC, receiving much press coverage.  It was the second business (after the training facility) to open its doors to an external market.  I  worked with the Director General of the BBC and, when recruited, the Operations Director for Wood Norton.

Wood Norton Hotel was subsequently sold by the BBC and is now owned by Bespoke Hotels.
